Always Try On A Bra Before Taking Off the Tags
I am reasonably heavy in the bust (about a D) and I am on the chubby side. When I get a bra, it is very important that the bra does not end up caving in my shoulders and disappearing into a fleshy abyss, or smushing my breasts so that little half moons of chub hang over and make it look like I have four breasts instead of an already lumbering two. Halter Top Bras are typically a great choice for me.
However, one particular bad experience I had with a bra was when I attempted to go for a sexy push-up bra. The store I bought it from was reasonably high-priced so I expected good value for my purchase. For some reason, I thought that for this buy I did not need to try the bra on. It just looked right and seemed right.
When I got it home and washed it, I tried it on and the first problem was that the cups were extremely ill-shaped. The cups did not complement my body shape, but instead molded my breasts into what my mom described as deformed hot dogs. That is not the kind of simile you want to hear when someone tries to describe your bust.
Well, I found that by tightening the straps, I could actually force the bra to take a better shape. So, I strapped myself in and set out for an evening out because by-darn-it I was going to get use out of that expensive bra! Halfway through the night, I had to go to the bathroom just to remove the bra for a few minutes because my arms were going numb and my shoulders felt whipped. The straps for the bra were made of cruel skinny cords that were effectively cutting into my flesh. I was literally chaffing from it. Also, the lace that the bra had adorned all over it was rubbing against me menacingly, and I was developing a rash.
The night was a continuously torturous experience and all I could think about was running into my house when the evening was over and tearing that bra off. I even fantasized about stomping on it and laughing maniacally. Needless to say, the bra did not get a second trial run ever, and I have never bought a bra without trying it on first since.
